I would like to give you a background to start so that you can understand my frustration. This is my final year at UMHB. I am under the psychology department. I view the psychology professors as very lazy. They are not willing to help you even after you have emailed them for weeks and popped into their office. You?re probably thinking, ?Go to the department chair.? Well the department chair of psychology is an arrogant narcissistic man to state it lightly.

I am also a military veteran receiving the Post 911 GIbill and the bursar and VA are always making mistakes when it comes to me getting paid. The VA certifying official at the school is clueless and makes many mistakes.

The employees in the Bursars office are very rude and act like you?re an inconvenience to them. When the last time I checked this is a private institution and if it weren?t for us students attending they would not even have jobs.

The technology department employees are not very experienced. It took me going to them three times with the same email issue until it finally was fixed.

Fees are not refundable so if you sign up for a class with a fee and then drop they will not give you your money back. They charge many different fees so beware of budgeting for those extra fees.

I love the people at UMHB. The professors are really care about students and know their names. The students are very friendly! The small size of the school makes it easy to get to know people.

For the price, I would have expected a stellar education in my degree field from UMHB. However, after entering the workforce, I realized that UMHB provided me with an extremely anemic education. The price at this university is simply outrageous compared to the education that one receives. Exceptions to this appear to be the nursing, education, and psychology departments. All others are overpriced and leave students ill-prepared.
