I attended UNT for 1 semester, and IQuite BrightBiology
I attended UNT for 1 semester, and I have to say, it was the worst semester of my life. My roomate, and most people I met were sheltered suburban kids who really didn't know anything about anything. There is no balance of people; either they are isolated suburban white kids, isolated suburban black kids, people who don't want to be accepted by society (i.e., so-called Goths), or superlative underachievers. I come from a small town, and wanted a well rounded college experience. UNT is like a high school with 30,000 people. If you want to be around mature people with some idea of what's going on in the world, don't waste your time at the University of North Texas. The biology program is an afterthought; everything is an afterthought to the music program. Classes are either taught by mediocre professors, or teaching assistants who have no idea how to speak the English language. This school blows up its image like its really good. It's not, at least at the undergraduate,non-music major level.

Question
This is a horrible university.BrightEconomics
This is a horrible university. All they are concerned with is taking your money and that is evident in the way they administer parking. Instead of building a garage or more parking lots they jack up the price for a permit ($140), so that students are detered from parking on camus. Living on campus is hell, unless you live in one of the newer expensive halls. I am transfering out of this place as soon as possible. Most of the professors dont speak english as their first language. I had a Russian lady teach my Algebra class and at least 80% of the class failed. The math departments solution was to give us mostly C's just to get us out of their hair. This place is aweful.

Question
UNT was unhelpful and misleading.Quite BrightGeography and Geosciences
UNT was unhelpful and misleading. I had to keep track of EVERY dollar I received in Financial Aid as on MULTIPLE occasions chunks would go missing or not be posted with no letters or emails to me. Shady! My department, the Geography department was TERRIBLE! The only good thing was the front office staff who was ALWAYS nice and helpful. As for the teachers, and I speak to the few teachers who deal in the physical aspect of geography, they were detached and did not work together (they work against sometimes). I could not get ANY help or even a discussion related to getting a thesis topic and/or research completed. When I was teaching undergrad classes I had to advise really interested students to go to other universities if they wanted to pursue this topic. The whole mess did nothing to help me gain knowledge or help me in a career. Do yourself a favor and RUN AWAY from UNT, as fast as you can! Me and several other grads wish we would have earlier.
