Coursework for the College of Education is rigorous. I feel I am being well prepared for the working world. UTA is very user-friendly. People are helpful and everybody is generally relaxed except during midterms and finals weeks. I did not expect to have such a good experience at UTA. Now I am glad I chose to get my education in Texas.

I only dealt with the German Department. They have no GTA's. A couple of their faculty members are native speakers. They made taking German fun and cool. I just loved it over there. The experience was beyond my expectations.

Don't waste your time here if you wan't to actually learn anything. Sure "enrollment" has been up, but grad students are at an all time low. Almost all the students got funding cut....and in place, we got reaised prices on tuiturion(printing), and a new "state of the art" event center for sport events. WHO CARES?! The only thing about this campus that is positive is the "image" it looks nice, filled with flowers and sculptures that suggest higher education (suggest, doesn't mean it's there). Alot of the teachers take attendance and assign plenty of busywork, feels like highschool again. Creativity is NOT welcomed here, being an individual in your class will make you stand out. Also, many of the classes are graded based on "participation", which really means "how much I like you"

Also, i would carry a gun or taser with you, the surrounding area is crime infested, and the campus police are ridiculously slow to respond, and when they do, they will probably try to charge YOU with a crime. (took them 30 minutes to come when I reported my car stolen, they are 30 seconds up the street from me).

The anthro department does seem way friendlier then the other departments I went to, still they are very distant to you unless you are a TA/grad student, THEN they take interest. The science departments are ridicolous, NO ONE there wants to help you, in fact I had a class mate "tutor me" incorrectly, because he didn't want me getting a better grade then him. The advisors for science do not care if you want to learn, they equate learning with perfect grades, and if you are struggling for whatever reason, they blame you, even if it is a really hard class that you have worked your *** off for. This is not a school. This is a financial institution, it serves to make money off of YOU.
