I attended UTI Sacramento campus in 2009-2010. I did the B.S. automotive curriculum, Ford FACT, and SMOG at this campus. In 2010 I attended Mercedes-Benz at the Ranch Cucamonga campus. What a joke. This place is ALL about the money. PERIOD. GPA 3.8. No help EVER from Employment Services. EVER. You go in there and look at the employment board they have and it's filled with leads, what they don't tell you is that all those leads are at least six months old. Called a bunch of them and the people I called told me that the positions have been filled and to tell Employment Services to take the ad down. That's just Employment Services.

The students are retarded. I watched a student stab his own hand in class. Seriously, he stabbed his own hand with a knife and went running down the hall trailing blood. Did they kick that fool out? NOPE. Most of the students there I wouldn't trust to replace a center cap in a rim nor, would I give them a dull screwdriver. However the instructors were knowledgable if they deemed you intelligent enough to understand what they were telling you. I feel bad for the instructors. The management there is $$$ driven while they all wanted to teach. They don't even teach you how to change oil. Case in point, I work at an asian dealership as guess what, an oil changer. Another employee attended UTI as well. Guess what, he was an oil changer too. Two hour oil changes from that man. He had never touched a wrench the whole time he was there, now he washes cars. When I was looking for work while attending UTI I noticed a trend on Craigslist about UTI, the ad's started to state "no UTI students need apply". How depressing is that? I attended STARt in Rancho Cucamonga in L.A.. Completely different campus. Nobody there cares (except for the instructors). Had a problem with financial aid. The financial aid dept did not care. The instructors tried to help. Just think I spent 72,000$ to not be able to work for Mercedes or Ford. I should have just bought a 500SL and enjoyed it. One word of advice for prospective students, Dealerships will hire you with no skills and then PAY you to go to training. Not you paying for training.

Super Brilliant
UTI... there is a lot that has been said about this school online. i have sat and read page after page about disgruntled students that have failed out, complain about how bad this school is. I am in the Collision Repair and Refinish Technology Training Program at the Houston campus. i have a 4.0 and have been student of the course numerous times. i am on the directors list, and i am the top of my class. The best thing that i have heard about this school is that you get out what you put in. A lot of the other students in my class have gotten mad and talked about the school because they cant follow rules. there are a lot of rules at UTI but they are trying to prepare us for the dealership shops, not some mom and pop shops. this is a good school and if you put your mind to it you can get really good really fast.

I graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2007 with automotive with Ford FACT and after taking the curriculum I can say with full confidence that UTI is only a corporation that is there for one thing and one thing only; TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. The school (and I use that word very loosely) really don’t give two shits about the students. I heard my instructor say this in front of the class “this job is gravy”. Well guess what. To go to this piece of shit institution cost $30,000 for a year and three months and you have to supply your own tools (there is another thing they will not tell you). All in all I spent $40,000 on this and what did it get me a pink split (I was laid off). There is no job security in this field so do your self a favor and go else where. I wish I looked on other sites to research this before taking on such a large debt. This school only shows you the basics and that’s all. They will not show you how to make a single repair, the course work is only theory which is worthless with out any practice, the “hands on” is such a joke.

For the amount students pay they should learn more than just the basics. About 90% of the courses are what I consider worthless information. Sure the title of the course sounds important like “Advanced Applications” but believe me when I tell you this course involves the different types of batteries and how GPS works (meaning there has to a satellite in orbit in order for it to work; like no shit Sherlock) this is what I mean by worthless information. This shit hole purposefully adds a ton of courses so they can get more money out of everybody. Since they only show you the basics why don’t they only have courses like electrical, brakes, steering and suspension, A/C and drivability? These are the courses that you really need when you start out. The rest of the curriculum is a fucking waster of time. IF YOU WANT TI SEE WHAT UTI IS ALL ABOUT GO TO YOUTUBE. There you will see student fucking around without any thought about how theirs lives will be affected in a detrimental way. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELD GO TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE INSTEAD YOU WILL LEARN MORE FOR LESS $.

UTI said that they will help me find a job when I graduate BULL SHIT. The job leads they gave me were for National Tire and Battery, Pep Boys and try to figure this out a marine yard you know boats). When I was laid off I called their “employment center” and do you know what these fuckers told me? “Sorry there are currently no job openings in your area” Gee thanks UTI. PS FUCK YOU UTI YOU COCK SUCKING SON OF A BITCH
