The university by itself is very amazing. It provides a great education where you actually learn something and the faculty is truly unique and helpful. We are in Utah. That's simply a fact and you can't really avoid certain people who are close minded. I would absolutely 100% not recommend this school to anyone. In fact I would discourage it and not because of the above mentioned reason. The surrounding city is absolutely horrible particularly the police. As a college student you're going to make mistakes its inevitable and you may have to pay for those mistakes. However all the police are interested in is getting the most money they can and are absolute insensitive, may I say, assholes. I've had to pay over a thousand dollars in legal fees dealing with their idiocracy for something that should have been a smaller offense. Never, ever come here unless you're prepared to pay large amounts of money and deal with having a record. Innovation: A+, Surrounding City: F Have a Question? There is a lot to do, but the town is small so you kinda have to make your own fun... which can end up getting wild and crazy!!! People in the community are pretty close-minded and so are many students, but SUU has a great underground scene with open mics every wednesday and lots to explore. Don't judge it on it's small size. The professors always know and remember me and are really interested. I find them to be very sincere. Education Quality: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: B+ Have a Question? Unless your Mormon, lived a sheltered life, like to do nothing but stay inside and do bible study, don't come here. The faculty here is a waste of time and often messing things up and blames you for them. They messed up my student loan and made it arrive 6 weeks late, then charged me for late fees that they caused. I've had a lot of busy work, and I feel as I've wasted $11,000 transferring here. The town around is very low key and dull. The police are rather annoying and have a power trip as well as most of the Dorm RA's. This school is to be avoided if you live a normal life!
