 | Quite Bright | Logan, Utah is very boring. I've lived here for six years and I still struggle to find something to do rather than go to the movies. Almost anything you do here has to be outside oriented. You must make your own fun. Campus life is also dull due to a lack of school support for on-campus activities. It is hard to find information on clubs, scholarships, honors societies, academic fraternities/sororities, and lectures or seminars if you are interested. If you live on campus the residential staff is mainly useless, most summer housing offers no air conditioning, and the meal plan food...well, you're better off cooking something yourself. Although the campus is nice looking from the outside a lot of the buildings are ancient, falling apart with exposed piping, steam heaters in only some rooms (great for the 7 months of winter we get), broken desks or lack of them all together, and rooms too small for many classes. Then there are the teachers and some classes (mostly generals) which are taught by teaching assistants or grad students with limited teaching experience. Lastly, unfortunately when you go to talk to anyone who is faculty at this school and not directly involved with students they treat you like a number and they don't care (this especially applies to academic advisors across all departments). You are better off going somewhere other than U.S.U. | Perceived Campus Safety: A, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Bright | The Non-University social life was perfect for my personality. The Political Science Department was above expectations and provided me with a great education. The University administration in general was unhelpful, condescending, and put everything but the needs of the students first. Outside of the political science department, I felt like students were considered a necessary evil and that it was ok for to the university to milk the students for every last cent. When the alumni association calls I'm not giving then one red cent because I already overpaid for my education. I would like to thank the few people within the university who did care because they are the only thing that made my stay tolerable. | Surrounding City: A+, Individual Value: F | | | |
