The on-line experience exceeded my expectations. It was reading intensive but the materials were well chosen and relevent. My degree definately helped me to get my current position with the Federal government. The University is well respected in the Washington, DC area. I highly recommend it.

I went to a brick and mortar school for two years before I decided I wasn't ready to finish. I felt I needed to pursue other avenues before finishing up. I did that and then went on to finish my degree through AMU. I am so pleased and would say that the classes were as challenging and in some cases more than challenging than the B&M. For instance, my statistics class was so much harder because I had to pretty much teach myself. I learned so much more through AMU because you have to teach yourself most of the information considering there isn't a lecture. Granted the instructors give a brief oversight of the weekly assignments but when it came down to it, I had to do most if not all the work myself. I didn't have an instructor explain things to me on a marker board. I know someone who finished their degree online and is now a special agent for the FBI. Government agencies look at online universities as more competitive. They actually prefer them more sometimes because they can send their employees back to school while they are working. I would never change a thing with my education through AMU. I am proud to be an Alumni and hope to pursue my Masters through Boston Universities online MBA program.

I like this school. When I first started attending I felt as if there were problems with the communications. When I finally learned how things worked it has been fine since. The classes are very simple to understand and the instructors are usually very understanding of legitimate complaints and or problems. Overall I am very happy with my decision to switch from Troy State to American Military University.
