The school is a great school. I believe theadministration are trying to enhance not just the learning experience but the out-of-class experience as well. It is true that the facilities are not extremely modern but they are liveable and comfortable. You need to get involved! Getting involved makeds all the difference in your experience. The staff are very nice and try to help out any time I have need.

Bluefield College on it's own is a pretty campus..if you don't mind living in ancient dorms that don't even have wi-fi internet access or air conditioning. They only have one building that is new that there still struggling to pay off. Which means higher tution costs..bluefield tries to squeeze every cent out of you. Including by telling you that you can't live off campus if you receive a scholarship (which is nearly 99% of the school). Also you HAVE to have a meal plan no matter what. I know that college food is not supposed to be the best but blufield brings food to an all new low. They are only open for about six hours a day and many of the staff are very rude. Most times i would walk in to the cafeteria and walk out in disgust because the food is so bad. You think they would get better at it considering they serve the same thing nearly every night!! There are a few good professors that you can get to know...but only in the higher level courses. Some of the professors are very judgmental if you don't believe in there views on as a Christian. Do not go to this school if your not strongly christian. Many people are very judging of others who do not follow their own religion. In fact there is a huge divide of the school between the athletes (which is about over half of the school) and non athletes. One of my main problems is that there is NOTHING to do around the area unless you want to wander around wal mart every evening. People in the area are very ignorant and not intelligent but they are friendly. Another thing DO NOT come to this school if you are not from Virginia they do an awful job of helping there out of state students. In fact they often will close the caf because they will feel that there is not going to be enough students there that weekend (this is mainly during holidays) but they forget that a four day weekwend is not long enough for people to go home who dont live in virginia. So you pay 4,000 dollars for awful food and then they close the caf when your still at school! The school is small which is nice but gossip gets around quickly. You can find a good group of people to be friends with. However, i would not recommend bluefield unless your very Christian and sheltered. Even though nearly half of the people don't come back after there freshmen year. When you do try and transfer good luck! bluefield makes it hard as possible and most universites wont take your credits.

Bluefield College is a very small school that has its problems, but overall is a good place to be. I would not be the person I have become if it were not for the people here and the experiences that I've had.
