School is High School with dorms. No social life, frats are boring, have to drive to parties, if there are any. Professors are cool but overall the school is a suite case school. No students on campus during the weekends. Alright education; school is in a bad part of VA; nothing too do in surrounding areas but go see movies.

When I came to CNU last semester, they promised us a safe place where we could focus on academics...a place where we could grow and become active members in our society. So far, many students, especially freshmen do not like CNU. CNU does not seem to like it's freshmen either. Our privilege to hold class elections were taken because of several incidents regarding the students. We have no recycling program on campus either because the school does not support one. Freshman have been referred as immature and damaging to the university. We barely have respect from the upper classes anymore. Vandals destroyed many expensive vehicles a few weeks ago, the university police did not even stop it nor did any students observe such an incident which is quite absurd. After budget cuts, CNU was the first to announce our plan. We no longer have the education, nursing, or fitness and recreation majors. Many staff were fired and many students are transferring. The tuition has also been increased. The new facilities on campus(freshman dorms) have continual excessive failures. Many of the new systems do not work(telephone, cable). The Honor Code is repeatedly abused (most offenses against honor code in school's history done this year alone)and the school excessively uses it. For example a student was expelled for unintended plagiarism meaning they did not cite their sources correctly in a paper. Being a dry campus has its benefits, however, not even students 21 and over can drink. The sports on campus are unengaging, though the basketball team is great. Many more majors will be cut this following year and a many students were fired from school funded jobs because of buget cuts. Party life barely offered and the community of Newport News does not offer much for the younger population. Bus services stopped coming to the university itself and one needs a car unless one is willing to walk alot unless they plan on not going anywhere. Bowling alley is near. Financial services available. Quality of education is excellent, depending on your major. Food services are ok, but becomes redundant, and I have to live with it for 3.5 more years. Credit card paymoent of tuition no longer available. Construction of new fine arts center will be awesome. It has its ups and downs. This has been a horrible semester for CNU. I recommend not coming here until CNU gets back on its feet. Presidential Leadership Program is fun at first, but then one sees major improvements needed.
