Others have said that Emory and the surrounding area have nothing to offer prospective students. That we have no museums, coffee houses, etc. We do have coffee houses. There are many art centers. And there is the natural beauty of the moutains that surrounds the area and provides plenty of opportunity for recreation for students here. It is a beautiful area, and it is small. The positive thing about the small side of the school is the close attention every student recieves in classes from their professors. Every student is treated as an individual with their own values. As far as having something to do there, the Greek life at Emory is at times laughed at, but as a past member, it is a learning experience in itself. Greek life alone offers things to do, not all of them involving alcohol by any means. If you're not into that scene, there are plenty of other things to get involved in: intramurals, films shown on campus, school groups such as Blue and Gold. The courseload is challenging as it should be, and people leave the college with what they want to do clear in their minds.

This school is great if you live within an hour of Emory. On the weekends, a vast majority of students go home. Because they live really to campus. I live 5 hours away, so I don't have that option. The greeks offer a basic social scene. Academically, at least for some majors, its a joke. The food here is TERRIBLE. I am completely bored here even though I am involved in so many things. If you're a guy, good luck finding a girl. About 5% of the girls here are gorgeous. the other 95% makes the girl from high school that shaved her face look like a keeper. If you're a girl, I hope you like "I'm doing nothing with my life" country farmers.
There is a lack of opportunity and potential. I must say though, a majority of the profs are incredible.

I loved E&H. It is an acqured taste though. I came from a small high school. When I toured places like VA Tech it felt so inpersonal. I loved the small classes. I even had a couple of teachers check up on me if I miss class. Great staff. E&H is a dry campus and not co-ed, but I still had plenty of fun.

Even after my gradution in 2000 I am still in contact with some of my college professors.
