Bright
Sadly, I hate to admit that H-SC has a serious problem with hazing, which is far worse than at other colleges. The administration seems to ignore this issue by falling back on our "honor code," which frankly is a joke. I'm afraid that if the school doesn't address this problem soon, someone is going to be seriously injured or die. If things don't change, I wouldn't send my son there.

Not so bright
This school has one of the most severe hazing and drug problems , and the campus security are dual Va state troopers, and are agressively trying to arrest students for drinking and minor infractions, and they will hide behind their honer code reputation , when so many students cheat and haze and then rule on other students behavior when those representing the honor committee are hypocritical and just as guilty. The faculty and administration are totally out of touch with what is going on and when there are issues their attitude is that is the law and good luck. I never saw a school with such a cavalier and non mentoring attitude to its students , parents and alumni. This place should be avoided at all costs !

Super Brilliant
Hampden-Sydney College is a one-of-a-kind institution where academics meshes unexpectedly with good southern gentlemen. While they party hard on the weekends, weekdays are all hard work and steadfast determination. It is one of the oldest schools in the nation and takes pride in its tradition. In my mind, H-SC is one of the most amazing places on Earth.
