Super Brilliant
Coming to this school was the worst decision I have ever made in my life. Yes, I did visit before I came to the school, and I did love the campus. That's about where it ends.

I have yet to meet ONE person that is truly intelligent and interesting. (That means someone who doesn't just care about partying and sex, or someone who is not a complete bible thumper.) If you are one of those people, by all means, come to this school. Sluts, druggies, manwhores, sorority sluts, fraternity idiots, and bible thumpers, you are ALL welcome here. Intelligent people who actually have a brain, please beware.

There is nothing to do at this school besides drink. If you are a sorority slut or a fraternity idiot, you will all love it here.

Needless to say, I am transferring ASAP. I hope anyone who has a brain at all will take this into consideration. This place is truly a hellhole manifestation of people who lack the mental capacity to think for themselves.

If you aren't a sorority whore, don't bother, you won't make friends. If you don't like dancing on poles at frat parties or sleep around, don't bother because you won't have a social life.

I had ONE awesome class/professor my entire year at JMU, and it was his last year there anyway. Everyone is EXACTLY the same, and if you're artsy in any way, do not expect to meet or see anyone like you.

There is absolutely nothing to do on campus - accept get drunk or maybe work out. That was a blessing for me though, because I spent virtually all my time studying and therefore got a 4.0... which made it easier to transfer out of this hellhole.

JMU is a pretty school located in the middle of no where. I am in my first year of studies, I want to study accounting, however we have to take a year's worth of general classes that are not challenging and bear little relevance towards my chosen major.

JMU is a great place to party - people here like to get drunk. The original part of campus (Bluestone) is attractive - the other parts of campus not so much. If you are looking to have a good time - this is the place to go - although its pricey - otherwise you could get a better educational bargain.

I came to JMU to study accounting and was disappointed to find that I had to first take a long series of general education courses that had little academic value but cost time and money. I am going into my second year this fall and I am questioning whether or not to transfer to focus on my core major - accounting. The accounting program also has limited co-op/internship slots available and will require that I spend a semester away from JMU to complete it.

Otherwise its okay - the campus is nice (bluestone area) other parts are ok. There are a lot of parties - but mostly the social life is focused on people getting hammered and running around. Football is fun - basketball is not - they always lose (except the women's program).

If you are coming to college to socialize - JMU is great - if a little pricey for what you get. If you want to focus on studying and achieving your career objectives - you might want to look elsewhere.
