| Bright | Besides Longwood, I spent one summer at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I took classes I knew I had to have for my degree at Longwood. One of the classes at Longwood was a 200 course class, but the same class with the same books was a graduate class at UNC. The classes at Longwood were much more difficult. I feel I earned a very decent college degree that has served me well over the years. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: D | | | |

| Quite Bright | Longwood was not my first choice in deciding which school to go to. I can safely say I wasted thousands of dollars and a majority of my time at this school. With the approximately 85% Greek Life majority, it is easy to feel excluded if one is trying to persue an academic career instead of striving to meet a social agenda. Because of the lack of entertainment at Longwood, school officials deem it necessary to create conflicts, which result in the notorious Judicial and Honor board trials. It seems highly unlikely for any student to complete their four of five years at longwood without receiving a disciplinary strike, which after three, results in dismissal. Also, because the University was built in 1839, the surrounding buildings are outdated and in great need of repair and so the entire campus is under ongoing construction, which makes it an inconveinence for students. If you are looking for an exceptional university with a wonderful learning experience as well as a safe atmosphere that fosters self growth and lifetime friendships, I suggest you search elsewhere. | Faculty Accessibility: B+, Surrounding City: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | Hmmmm....Longwood.. I went to Longwood because I had set my hopes on another school which was GMU and did not get in. I waited to the last minute to apply to other schools and Longwood was one of the two I was accepted into(the other was Radford). It is not a bad school. However, if you have high expectations for the whole college experience I dont suggest going to Longwood. It is in Farmville Va! There is not a whole lot going on in Farmville. There's a walmart and a few other stores and fast food joints and a movie theatre. But there just is not a lot going on in this town. Weekends can be pretty boring! I spent my weekends riding the Fab which is a small bus that goes around Farmville. The friends that I did make pretty much went home every weekend so if you intend to stay on the weekends make sure you find a social group who chooses to do the same. Most of the students at Longwood are all pretty much the same. Everyone is basically an education major. And the school is mostly Caucasian girls who wear Vera Bradley religiously. There is just not a lot of diversity at this school or too many unique persons. Longwood however does have a really nice gym that was just built is has an indoor track, rock climbing wall and lots of equipment. The classes at Longwood are not too challenging. There are some hard classes but overall the classes are not extremely hard. The library is pretty nice and stays open till twelve. I think a lot of guys like the school. I mean the school is like 70% all girls. So if your a guy you might enjoy it. The party scene at LU wasnt too much for me either but then there are people who enjoy it. So basically, LU is a school for certain type of person, not everyone fits in there. I am transferring now to ODU or VCU. Longwood was just not the school for me. If you choose to go to Longwood. I would say really make an attempt to meet people and make friends so that you can get thru being there for four years. Because it really can be boring and slow at times. One big positive of Longwood though is the small classes. Most all my professors knew my name. You really arent too much of a number at Longwood. If you ever need the registrar's office to do something for you. Stay ont them!!!! or else they will not do what you ask them to do. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Surrounding City: F | | | |
