If you can't get into anywhere else or absolutely can't afford anything else, then go to LFCC. If you have ANY other options, take it. The campus is smaller than some high schools, and has less going on than a middle school. Classes are fairly easy, if you do your work and study a little, you are sure to get an A. There is absolutely no diversity, except the age gap of 30+ years. This is the 13th grade despite the prodding from the staff to convince you otherwise. If you plan on transferring, make sure you are well read in the school you are planning to transfer to. The staff is incompetent in helping you in this and will only try to convince you to stay for two years if you are thinking about transferring early. And trust me, you will want to. Food is terrible and over priced, and it takes a while to get. Only plus is good internet. I do not recommend LFCC, only go if you have no other options.

Just like anywhere else you need to know how to work the institution. Be selective to the teachers because many are unhelpful or are just plain awful teachers. The science department is thriving. If you go under guranteed admissions-good luck. I needed a specific 2 classes to get to UVA, and LFCC didn't even offer them. For anyone interested in JMU from LFCC, it's a joke. You will be taking a good year worth of credits over at JMU.

The school has changed focus. It used to be a strong educational facility. Now it cares less about education and more about taking your money and not giving anything, or very little, in return. I would not recommend this school to anyone wishing to move on and transfer to a 4 yr college - you will not have the background that you need to succeed!
