The Traditional Program for Women offers the documented (and increasingly rare) benefits of single-sex education, sharply focused on academic achievement and personal growth.  Nowhere else is there a program like the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership, the only all-female cadet corps in the world.  In the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted we have the country’s only full-time residential program for women as young as rising ninth-graders. In partnership with Shenandoah Shakespeare — the company that dared to build the world’s only recreation of Shakespeare’s Blackfriars Playhouse — the college provides one-of-a kind graduate degrees in Shakespeare studies.  There is no Master of Arts in Teaching program like ours, grounded in the liberal arts with inquiry-based faculty and practicing teachers in every classroom. For over 25 years our Adult Degree Program has set the standard in offering flexible opportunities for adults to juggle family, work, and classes.
