As most reviews thus far have said, Roanoke College is a solid academic institution. I happen to be very fond of the my major's department and the opportunities Roanoke has made available to me, such as a semester abroad in England, start a new organization and a job that looks stellar on my resume. What I've noticed is that a lot of past reviews attack Roanoke's social order and in case those deter you THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT FORCED TO BE HERE. Small schools tend to form cliques and the people who generalize Roanoke as full of lacrosstitutes and lax bros are just as snotty. These are just the stereotypes the most frequently noticed on campus (because, yes, they're usually pretty people) and they're easy targets for dumb blonde and coke jokes. There are plenty of other people on campus who prefer not to drink, who don't treat their peers rudely and do well in class. Guess what Whiners, other colleges are filled with even dumber, prettier, and more drug-addled people and out in the real world, they usually make more money than you. If you can't put up with a few rich pretty snobs without bitching about it, you too, are a snob and need to get over it. Roanoke's a fine school, it's just not for everyone.

I have met some wonderful people at Roanoke College. yet the majority of the people to be arrogant and self absorbed. Many of the people at this school just like to get piss drunk and don't do shit for their classes. This is why the average GPA at this school is so low. The kids here act like they are in high school and form cliques and groups. They discriminate and are racist to any who are not blonde, blue eyed, and skinny. The girls in this this school are all sluts with pounds of make up on their face. It's disgusting. The dudes are all lax bros who don't have a brain and think it's cool to drink natty from a solo. These are D3 athletes but D1 drinkers. I would not come here if you didn't look like barbie, if you don't have a lot of money to piss away, if you have a brain and want an actual education, if you want to make actual friends, etc. Roanoke is one of the worst colleges ever.

At roanoke college there is absolutely nothing to do. school spirit is non existent and if you go a school sporting event expect to be the only person. Also, Roanoke students are some of the most absorbed people i have ever met. At a school of 2000 you see the same 2000 people over and over again but don't expect to know many of them at all. Most people here come from money and lack in the brain department. If your expecting a quality conversation with anyone you came to the wrong place. If you want to grow as a person, you came to the wrong place. If you plan on having a good time at college..... you probably came to the wrong place. But, if your partially brain dead, unhealthful skinny ie. balletic or anorexic, and good at looking like all your peers you came to the right place. Enjoy the next four years of conformity.
