St. Pauls College is a small and rural college. I am a 2001 graduate. Eventhough, the school did not have everthing other schools had, it gave me many opportunities. I travelled up and down the east coast playing baseball and tennis. St. Pauls College even allowed me to spend a semester in Europe and a summer in Canada studying. I sometimes wished that St. Looked like Univ. of VA or Hampton Univ., but I stayed and decided that i could go to any of those schools for grad school. I took the good and the bad there. Many of us could have easily transferred to UVA, James Madison or Howard Univ, but we liked being around the people there. Yes, we had students who should not have been there, but you will see students like that at any college. Overall, St. Pauls allowed me to get hired right away as a Middle and High School English Teacher. It was worth it. I am about to finish a certification program in Technical Writing through Clemson University's school of Continuing Studies. Many of my classmates have finished there masters or PHd's at bigger schools and are reaping the benefits. Going to an HBCU does have its benefits.

This school's academic standard is pathetic. I am a computer science major and i feel the school does not have enough facilities for that program. Anyone is accepted into the school..... The question I have about that is what sense does that make?????. A lot of the faculty are old and out dated very very pathetic school. All you've got to do to realize this is to expose yourself to other schools and see how the academic, social and extra curricular life is.

Nursing instructors in St.Paul Community College are like a family and they all cover for each other in everything. If you are a student and English is not your first language, don't come to St.Paul. Go anywhere, you will not regret. Some of those instructors need to be investigated on the basis of racial preference. I wonder how they have lasted this long with such attitude toward students.
