After transferring to UVA from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, I can honestly say I made the best choice of my life. UVA has the feel of a small school while maintaining all the resources a very large university would have. The students here are competitive, but it makes in- and out-of-class experiences more enriching. I have met some of the most amazing people here, and honestly everyone has something interesting to offer. Extra-curriculars are the best way to make friends who share your interests, and with over 400 organizations as of spring 2001, there is ALWAYS something to get involved with.
Individual Value: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: B-

I love UVA. Perhaps I've just been lucky, but I don't think I've had one professor that I've disliked. My professors have generally been excellent; and, even if their courses were extremely challenging, I found them to be approachable, friendly, and very interesting people. My peers are both impressive and diverse, in backgrounds and interests. The best part about this university is the people who study and teach here. As an added benefit, the Grounds (campus) is absolutely beautiful.
Education Quality: A+, University Resource Use: C+

UVA is great academically, the teachers and departments are great. Socially, the frat scene is way too dominant, but if that's your thing than this is the place for you.
