Truly awful school run by stubborn parasites. Poor academics. Located in a Trashy and run-down crime infested neighborhood. Trashy, run-down, and faliing apart facilities. Lazy staff. Poor food. Lousy academics. Arrogant professors. The towns of Bristol TN/VA has zero respect for VIC as this college does ot even try to involve itself in the local Arts community. Their Theater, Dance, and Art programs are all but defunct because of this. VIC is awful school that needs to shut down and stop wasting people's money and time. It is a horrible place. Do not go there. You will be disappointed.

This HAS to be one of the worst schools in the country. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before I went because they WILL SCAM YOU. I visited the campus and did not see anything wrong. I thought it was a cute little school. But as soon as I moved into my dorm I knew I was in for it. Bristol is the sh*t*est white trash town I have ever seen. Most of kids at the school are locals or from the tennesee area and all they are all in their own little sheltered world. The school is famous for equine studies so it is 90% snobby rich ugly girls with their horses. The teaching is another story. English is one of my best subjects and I failed the class. It's easy enough to say the teachers don't know how to teach. the food is horrible. The last semester i had to start buying my own food even though i couldn't afford it because i was getting so sick and gaining so much wieght. it is 30,000 tuition but nobody knows where all the money is going. my first dorm room did not have working heat or ac. i moved into another one and the door actually fell off the hinges because it was so rotted. there were holes in the walls. My mom thought it looked like something out of the projects. the resources at this school are non-existent. they only cater to the equine majors. i needed a ride to the emergency room and security wouldn't take me, but they take equine majors to their classes at the barn. there is literally nothing to do at this school. i dread thinking about those days that my boyfriend and I sat in my disgusting room listening to the clock tower above go off every 15 minutes---yes, every 15 MINUTES!!! this school was on academic probation for a while too. anyways, that's all i've got to say.

I am proud to say that VI has reached the 125 year mark. However, every building still looks the same as it did in 1884. Some people say that it is historic and they have walked in the footsteps of those before them, but that is bull. The College of William and Mary which was founded in 1793 with its 586 million dollar endowment is the second oldest institution in the country. Yet they maintain their facilities. They simply do not say that because it's historic, it must look like crap and can't be fixed. The place needs to close. Its incompetent faculty and staff need to be fired. Its President needs to learn how to lead an institution. Its Dean of Students needs to stop spending the college's five dollar endowment. The dining hall, while serving wonderful food, needs to be propped up because it is rapidly sinking and is about to collapse just as the attached porch next door of Hodges. I feel that the Reverend Harrison Jones, when he founded Virginia Intermont, had no intentions of creating an institution that cannot survive because of how it operates. The college and board of directors, administration, faculty and staff has no leader. No one to lead it down the right path and it is a shame because the school once had great potential. Now Virginia Intermont needs to bow out on its own free will before it's forced to close because of a lack on enrollment, lack of funding and lack of competent people to run it.
