Perfect mix of education with a great party environment. Blacksburg is not a large place at all, so don't go there expecting it to be. But it is absolutely great place to be in the summer. Football season is incredible. Nothing like packing 60-70,000 drunk college students in one place (Go Hokies!). And be prepared to answer the question "what the fuck is a Hokie?" about a million times.

Virginia Tech is a great school, it's vastly improving it's facilities, with new buildings and resources. It's a beautiful campus to walk around, with good places to eat, and it's right near downtown Blacksburg, and not far off from Christiansburg's shopping mall and stores.
The CS department has lots of freindly professors and TA's, and the councelors are very helpful. There are many computer labs to do homework in and get help from too.Just beware of the weather!!! It's either freezing or scorching!!!
