I am working on getting an Assoiciates in Social Science before transferring to Virginia Tech to major in Political Science. The teachers, counselors, and staff that I have interacted with here have been extremely friendly and helpful.

The student body is interesting, very diverse. There are a few closeminded individuals here, but thankfully they aren't in the majority. There are only a handful of clubs here, but the ones I've participated in have been great.

There aren't many food choices on campus, so it's better to bring your own or eat off campus. There isn't anything notable within walking distance, but of course it's a commuter campus, so if you want to enjoy the city you better have a means of transportation. (students can ride the Valley Metro buses for free)

The campus facilities are great. My favorite part is the newly renovated main floor of the library, which is simply amazing. They have Math and Writing centers for those who need tutoring or help with writing papers which is great. The student center has a gym on the lower level, and a lounge on the upper level. Webber Hall and the breezeway connecting it to the Business Science building has these huge black leather couches which are great for relaxing and even napping in.Overall, I am enjoying my experience here. It isn't a full blown university, but if you want a good 2 years of college education for much less than a 4-year school, as well as guaranteed admission to schools all over the state, Western is a great value.
