Old Dominion is a good school, and I like the campus and areas around campus. However, their are a few bad neighborhoods closeby, just like any city. While on campus i've never felt threatened, and the campus is very nice. Teaching quality is good, and their are a lot of nice buildings and renovations in the making all around parts of campus.

Elon is truly a great university-- it's a place where one can truly grow, both academically and socially. I transfered from UVA (financial reasons at first, but then I saw the campus!!!) and it was the best decision I ever made-- the Elon Connection, especially in DC, is fantastic. I only wish more people appreciated this wonderful institution-- the students and professors were much more engaging than Virginia and frankly, much brighter.

James Madison is a University that get very little press but deserves to be heard. Being a University over shadowed by Universities such as UVA, VA Tech, people seldom hear of this roughly 15,000 strong school. The people there are amazing, the campus is beautiful, safe and easy to get around. As for the academics, building the Integrated Science and Technology school is well worth the school's investment. Many students both in the business and ISAT college have no problems finding well paying, successful positions in No. Virginia/D.C. I am living proof that doing well at JMU pays off.
Campus Aesthetics: A+, Surrounding City: C+
