I had a terrible experience at UVI, especially with the communications classes. There were two great instructors, however, the other ones, including the advisor, were just awful in so many ways I don't even know where to start.

The advisory program or knowledge of academic progression is lacking in efficiency and accuracy. Honestly they don't know what their are doing. They have students futures in their hands and don't have the respect to even be concerned. Many advisors don't even have the time to meet with you properly or have the desire to engage your concerns about what is a realistic path when it comes to class progression. My advice is to plan ahead, get a second opinion (better yet) ask questions in the registration office before committing to a path that has been suggested by these unconcerned individuals. Some of the departments that are the worst are the communication, music and nursing department.
