The students are nice, usually stupid, but nice. The majority of the faculty are thouroughly over-qualified to be teaching at Castleton. The administration; however, is not. They spend money to fund the police departments borderline abuse of students when almost every teacher is complaining that they need newer desks, or equipment. On the weekends you can hear a collective boredom induced sigh from the students that haven't gone home. If you step off campus at night you will most likely be questioned by a police officer. If you stay on campus with more that 5 people you will most likely be asked to "quiet down" by a CA (Unles you have a nice one which is rare, but they do exist). The only thing left to do after that is eat. Thankfully Castleton teamed up with Sudexo to make that as difficult as possible. On the weekends Huden closes at about 7pm, because that's convienient. Luckily Fireside cafe is open - The Nazi regime of the food industry. Walking in there it will be crowded nine times out of ten and every student will be Drained of energy from waiting for so long due to inexperienced / incompitent workers. Once you make it through the agonising wait (while meeting their new "meal policy" You can successfully pay, but just hope that you dont have too much food like an extra french fry or piece of cheese because then you will have to use your points or money. Also dont get any condiments because that costs money too. After eating the four bites of food provided by Fireside you can go back to your floor and listen to the sighs again.

Get involved in campus life. Lots of sports and other opportunities for having fun. Killington and Pico are really close by for skiing. Join the business club so you can network with alumni so you can get a job after graduation,

Castleton has friendly students but they aren't very wordly. I am not from VT, and most of the people who go here have never even been on a plane. Rutland is full of disgusting low lives. We just got a Panera Bread and thats a big step for us in Rutland. Most guys are hicks, unless they play sports. If you don't want a school in the middle of no where, dont go here
