This college is wonderful!! The feeling of community here is amazing. I've made wonderful friends, especially in my dorm. There is a lot of work, but people still find time to do fun things like build igloos, play sardines, play quidditch, and watch movies. There are lots of parties that happen on the weekends, but if thats not your thing, there's always plenty of other stuff to do as well. The campus is beautiful. Even though its winter (and I'm from southern California), I still think the location could not be better. The food here is amazing, too, by the way. The surrounding town is small but very cute. It has a great Co-op, a grocery store, a couple of all-purpose stores, and some Vermont-souvenir type places, as well as some fun restaurants and a bar, all within easy walking distance. As for the students, there are a few who are rich/entitled, but they definitely do not dominate the campus. I'd say that a lot if not most of the student body at any given time is wearing jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt. Just about everyone I've met is welcoming and friendly, usually some amazing hidden talent. The first year seminar programs is awesome, as is outdoor orientation. All of my professors knew my name the first week, and were always available to help.

I am currently a freshman at Midd, and I have to say I can't wait to transfer out. There is absolutely nothing to do here, and I currently have too much work to party anyway. The closest city isn't even a real city, and it is literally in the middle of nowhere. I knew that the school was small and the surrounding area even smaller, but I had no idea it would make me feel this isolated. Coming from an urban environment, I have never felt more alone, and cry myself to sleep almost every night. The people here are 65% friendly, and the other 35% are assholes, but that's to be expected at any school. I'm just warning prospective students that yes the academics are obviously fantastic, but expect to feel disconnected, isolated, and completely alone.
