I'm going to UVM for a degree in ME. This is a good school for undergrads but there are limited options for graduates. We have a new dean in our dept. who has had sucess building an engineering major at Smith college. Burlington is a great college town

First semester is hard, especially if you're majoring in a science. If you stick it out and really try, you can do it. Also, joining a club is a great way to meet upperclassmen and people outside of those you live with on your floor. (Harris/Millis is the best freshman dorm. Make every effort to live there)

The campus is spread out, but definitely worth it. There are a few professors who are rather self-absorbed and arrogant bu the majority are helpful, once you get to the smaller class sizes. The town is beautiful and very relaxing. Vermonters tend to be fun and laid back. You don't worry about your attire, it's too cold to look good. The summers are awesome!
