CWU has been a good experience for me overall. I have really enjoyed getting to know my professors. Most of the professors I have had are professionals in the workplace with direct experience. There are a lot of hands-on experiences students can take part in because of the small classes, lots of group projects in most all of my classes. Coming from a smaller town, CWU was a great transition for me. I loved the weather in Ellensburg, all the great restaurants and outdoor things to do.

If attending a CWU Center (not on main campus), be prepared to plan your courses carefully by checking previous published schedules as some courses are offered infrequently. Be sure to check graduate school requirements PRIOR TO attending CWU to get a feel for what completed courses you MUST HAVE to satisfy entry requirements of graduate schools.

CWU is very bad with informing students about things. Feb 1 they sent my gf a letter telling her to move out because her fin aid had had problems. She got it on the 2nd, two hours before she was supposed to be moved out. She nearly had a break down, so they gave her an additional 24 hours to find somewhere to live.

CWU health center is a joke currently; the only way to get in is to call around 7:30 am for one of a few apparent spots; and if you get in, they will probably tell you you are fine, no matter how serious your illness may be. (Pink eye, sinus infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, fractured bones have all been told they are fine and to go home.)

The individual professors are usually pretty cool, but the CWU structure is somewhat of a joke at the moment. The RHA idea confounds me; the school allows this club to take money from every student to put on "events." These events, after being filtered through the school and voting, see very low attendance (as most people aren't interested in solely educational activities after a day of classes and work).
