I am honestly surprised CWU is an accredited university. The reason it is so cheap is because the education you receive at Central is honestly a joke. The student body that is attracted to Central are those that only focus on partying and "living the college dream" and as such, I found myself sitting in class wondering how my peers even got accepted to college in the first place. If you care about your education and your future, choose a different university. Invest in paying more to attend a better, respectable university. Spending even a cent on tuition at Central is a waste.

I went to Central because I was looking for an affordable in-state school that offered a healthy, proactive learning and social environment. After completing three full years of study at CWU, I have noticed these things:

- Students often complain about having to do their schoolwork, which is an implication of intellectual laziness.

- Students fail to expand their horizons. This is shown in shirts that say "Constantly Wasted University", attendance at parties outweighing classroom attendance, and the usage of phrases such as "gay" and "retarded" in derogatory manners on campus.

- If you ask a question that extends a classroom discussion, you will likely receive dirty looks for prolonging the lecture.

- Multiple programs are offered for students who are struggling to keep up with their studies, while limited programs are available for students seeking a challenge.

- Cliques exist, especially among the Freshman class.
- More than half the students of my Freshman class have left the school; reasons for this include dropping out, transferring, or being expelled.Although I have made many friends here, I am largely unsatisfied with the academic environment at CWU.

The school does a great job of telling you about the fun things you could have done last week. They are terrible at getting the information to you in time for you to attend an event. It really is a great way for the school to save money. Free BBQ yesterday! And since no one showed up, it cost the school nothing but they can claim that they held an event for students. Funny how I never learn of the good stuff, but the school manages to send hundreds of e-mails and letters to my home reminding me to donate to the university after I graduate. I will NEVER donate to this school and it upsets me that they think I should. The school has never included me in any of their events, so I will not include them in my money. The registrars office...incompetent would be a step-up for them. I took classes at a community college for my EMT and Paramedic licenses. CWU offers an EMT program, but would not count them as transfer credit because they were taken at a community college and not a university. The head of the EMT program went to bat for me because I had the credentials to teach the class. That did not matter to the registrar. The will only accept credits from a university. They denied me the credits causing me to have to re-take classes. After dealing with them, I understand why people go on shooting sprees at colleges.
