After completing 4 quarters at this school I finally checked out how transferable the credits were. Very few if any credits were transferable except to a few colleges and then at a very discounted rate. What that is saying is that other colleges do not consider courses at LWTC to be up to their standards or there is no comperable program.
Do not expect the Employent Resource Center at this school to offer anything other condesending attitudes and ten cent advice. Job listings are from common employment web sites. One of two employees in this customer service centric dept. is angry and dislikes students . Obviously a disgruntled HR wanna be. Her behavior is totally inexcuseable at an institution claiming to produce workplace equiped graduates.
This school is desperate to attract students. It will routinely list classes and then cancel them when they cannot get 6 or 7 students to enroll. Course content of two classes will sometimes be merged into one and it can be done to a class you have already taken forcing you to take it over or audit if you need the content or skills.

I am a much older than average student taking worker retraining courses. I earned a BS in my field at a state University in 1978 with a GPA of 3.4 or something. Here I earned a 4.0 or 3.9 in every course. I was shocked at how much the school caters to High School behavior. Instructors are using my final projects to show best ex-student work, yet the skills I have learned barely meet minimum needed by the workplace. On the whole they are doing the best they can but can't seem to fill classes and are severly handicapped with a few incompetent tenured instructors. They have virtually no quality standards for creativity which is critical for my area of study. Instructors constantly over sell the value of their classes and the school in order to increase enrollment. Nearly 75% of all classes I took could be completed entirely through self study using textbooks readily available from Amazon. Save your tuition and spend it on the software and work at home. If you can't afford a computer I will admit their computer facilities are B+ or A-. Additional comment: some trade or vocational programs seem very popular and may be satisfactory - not my area.

I don't know about any of the other programs, but I would recommend staying away from the Multimedia program. While there are some good part-time instructors, the regular instructors don't seem to care or even realize that you're supposed to be learning something in their classes. It's one thing to expect students to have initiative, but it's quite another to take their money and work and not offer them anything but a meaningless grade in return. Some of the classes - particularly the online classes - would be more appropriate for a diploma mill. I can't believe this school is accredited.

It's been getting steadily worse since my first quarter. I entered the program with excitement and high hopes - it's been a huge disappointment. I plan on switching to BCC next quarter.

Warning to all those looking at Lake Washington Technical College, in Kirkland!!! This is not a good place. It exsists to take your money, nothing more. Many instructors are inept and do not know the subjects. THe program I was in (ITAD), was poorly thought out. Everything from Registration to Records is impossibly inefficient. Please heed my warning and drive the extra miles to somewhere else. I wasted my time and money there. Really an idiotic place.
