As an out-of-state student raised in a very diversely cultural environment, Pullman was a shock. Although the science academics and athletic programs are quite competitive compared to any state institution, this university is meant for a very specific type of person. If you enjoy drinking, yelling at sporting events and being promiscious, this University is for you. You'll probably get a job too if you pick your major wisely. However, if you enjoy an entertaining, relaxing night life with many options, Pullman has very little to offer. The school is also highly conservative, which can get very frustrating. You're surrounded by wheatfields on all sides-no joke. If you like doing things outdoors you'd better have a car, a long weekend for the driving and a lot of money for gas. As a rule the average student at Pullman is:

1. Drunk
2. Bored3. Wearing WSU clothing
Education Quality: A-, Surrounding City: D

Your enjoyment of your chosen college is deirectly related to what you put into your college experience. If you talk to your professors (but not annoyingly to often), do a research project or take Honors curriculum, stay physically active through one of the finest intramural programs or personal exercise at the fabulous Student Recreation Center, get involved in a couple clubs, root on the varsity athletic teams, and join a social circle (whether it is a greek chapter or otherwise), you will do well any where. The fact that Pullman is small and 1.5 hours from any "big" city will entice you all the more to get involved in campus activities. WSU & Pullman offers an unusually good music selection throughout the semester and Pullman is well-located for outdoor recreation, whether it is boating or cliff-jumping on the Snake River, white water rafting, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, cliff climbing, or skiing, it's all available. My best advise to enjoying where ever you decide to go - don't be static & placid - take action, get involved & you'll enjoy your college experience. Pullman is one school where you have infinite opportunities to get involved, the professors will be interesting & helpful if you engage yourself, and you'll have plenty of friends.
Starting Job: Law Student, Preparedness: B+, Reputation: B+
