I am an accounting major who transfered from a community college.
The good: Spirit. Everyone loves to be a coug and is very friendly and approachable to newcomers. Everyone in Pullman is a student (past or present). Very friendly and safe town where people you dont even know will smile and nod as you walk by. The students here are normal and are not the hippie/gothic/druggie type. Academics are mostly good - especially the accoutning/finance courses. The Bad: Budget cuts are leading to several programs being decreased and some of the best teachers to be recruited elsewhere for better pay. After this semester 4 accounting teachers are leaving - which will leave the department sorely lacking in high quality teachers; especially since the department lost their best teacher last year. Another bad is the town - there is just not that much to do besides drink. But hey, thats a plus for me.

Great school. I live in seattle and wanted to get away from home and go to a place with school spirit. I am here now and I love it. The city of Pullman while small has a lot to offer if you know where to go. I love WSU and the city of Pullman and would not trade my time here for anything. There are a lot of parties, but you don't have to go to parties if you don't want to, and if you do want to there is a big supply to choose from. The University does a great job of making sure that everyone is involved as much as they want to be and they all seem to care.
