Where do I begin for MIAD...
STAFF:
At MIAD you will have two different types of staff. You will either experience the really awesome teachers that actually care if you succeed or not in this place, or you will get the narcissistic ass hole that will try to change everything about you as a person, and as an artist/designer. The Narcissistic teacher will push all of his/her ideas on to you and watch you suffer and humiliate you during in class crits. Most of the Staff members fall into this category, so unless you are a good fighter and have a VERY good grasp on the concept of all your work, I do not recommend MIAD.

Students:
DO NOT come to MIAD if you are expecting "everyone will be just like me". The truth of the matter is, MIAD has a lot of clicks. But don't be afraid! There is a group for everyone! ALOT of the students at MIAD are very up tight and very into their art work, and who they want in their friend groups. By the end of my first year at MIAD I have maybe two friends out of a class 250 because of the clicks.

Campus:
Honestly... MIAD is literally an old warehouse... There are a total of 4 floors, not including the river level. The 3rd and 4th Floors have little to no heat during the winter, so DRESS WARM :)

Food:
MIAD has a two choices for food throughout the day. On the river level. there is the OM NOM Cafe- the UNION (the original UNION burnt down recently) They have okay food... Then they have the 2nd floor Mini Mart. The Mini Mart is over priced and apparently very easy to steal from (according to flyers that have been recently put up due to theft)

DORMS:
The Park at 1824...oh god where to I begin here... Well for starters it is WAAAAYYY over priced for what it is worth. The internet connection sucks, the walls and floors are thin, and it is not all college students living there. The Park is basically an Apartment building, you get a stove, fridge, microwave, garbage disposal, 45 in T.V and a few other things. If you get stuck in the double bed room... good luck. You get a very small room with a decent bathroom. and an FYI be careful if you decide to "DO IT" in any of the bedrooms because of the thin walls

My Opinion:MIAD is more glorified then what it is worth. I found it to be a complete waste of my time and $40,000.

Super Brilliant
This school doesn't create a competitive environment and content being taught is very poor. Also, the employment rate after graduating from MIAD is good, but the salaries offered are terrible. There a far better colleges in other states that can promise you a much better education and job for your future. Don't waste your time going here if you want to be successful.

Bright
A lot of negative reviews often refer to this school as "a waste of money" for not being taught anything. Art school in general should be very different from regular schools in the area of learning. Where as other places of education will hand you a bunch of facts and tell you quiz tomorrow, MIAD's approach is very different. You as the student have to discover what works for you and what doesn't. It is almost nearly impossible to be "taught" to draw, but the teachers here will offer suggestions on how you can discover a new way to approach a situation. The faculty here are your friends and seem like they are at the same level as the students (in a good way.) and don't treat the students as if they are below him or herself. Instead a wonderful togetherness of learning occurs where self discovery and understanding is mutual between the two parties.

Since MIAD is relatively small it possesses a unique coziness but still has space to get away from the busy city. The teachers have the ability to really talk to you one and one and the best traits of nearly all the staff here actually care about you as an individual. (Which is a big reason why I chose this college.)

If you are struggling they offer very friendly tutors who will bust their butts for you. Everyone here will do their best to make sure you are getting the best education ever. MIAD offers another helpful resource where one can check out books from all surrounding colleges and have it delivered to MIAD. I could go on and on about why I like this school, but my main emphasis is how the teachers really do care about you and want to see you challenged with the work they assign. In the end you will be fully satisfied and happy. Even though I only just started school here, I've been hanging around this place since my Sophmore year in high school so I think what I've said is a pretty accurate description through my eyes.
