Marquette school of nursing is misleading. The website states programs can be completed full or part time. 6 months into my program, we were informed we could only go part-time. For many of us, this was not the time line we anticipated when accepting entrance into the program. In my opinion the Marquette campus lacks diversity and does not foster a supportive environment for those who are not white, straight, wealthy, catholic and conservative. This is exemplified through the Jody O'Brien scandal. Some professors in my graduate program have been wonderful. However, others have been absolutely horrible and it angers me to think how much I pay to be subjected to this substandard teaching. In addition, the nursing administration does not support their students. They almost always side with the professors. I came to Marquette because it was the most affordable option of the schools I got in to. But, I second guess myself almost every day and am trying to transfer for fall 2011. Excellent courses and education. However, the administration is often misleading. An example includes making promises to facilitate communication between cohorts (class groups) and not following through. Another example is supplying inaccurate information on the web page for years of possible completion of programs. Many students are content with the school. However, many students are switching masters programs in order to flee the school (10 people in my cohort alone). I have heard the same things from three different cohorts (classes).
