UW-L is the top ranked comprehensive university inQuite BrightPolitical Science
UW-L is the top ranked comprehensive university in the UW System and also has the second highest academic profile of incoming freshman behind UW-Madison. This school has a beautiful campus between towering bluffs and the Mississippi River, great faculty from across the country, students from nearly all 50 states and over 40 countries, and competitive academic programs. I loved my four years at the UW-L and I'm so proud to have completed my undergrad experience at this school. PS: Chancellor Joe Gow is the best!

Overall, I loved the professors at UW-L -Quite BrightEducation
Overall, I loved the professors at UW-L - especially in the science departments (biology mainly). They were all really approachable and really seemed to care for you as a person- not just a number.

However, the advisers of the University are horrible. Many students, myself included, have been given wrong advise and as a result had to stay in school longer than expected. The school of education is especially bad. They do not work with other departments and take forever to get placements done. They all put on a show in front of people to make them look supportive, but they are actually very two-faced. If you are planning on becoming a teacher- do not go to UW-L.

It's nice for a small school,but there's notAverageBusiness - Management and Administration
It's nice for a small school, but there's not as much to do on a Thursday night or a weekend compared to larger schools. I almost feel like I didn't get the "advertised" college experience. Not a great football game day atmosphere, nor is their much school spirit. The campus is really pretty, and the people are great. The professors are a mixed bag. Some are great but I've had some poor ones. The girls are cute which is a plus. A ton of high schoolers are all over the place especially the parties. Which can be good and bad. Overall it's a pretty average state school, with some great degree programs. Oktoberfest is a blast.
