of Wisconsin-Madison, founded in 1848, is a public, comprehensive institution.
Programs are offered through the Colleges of Agricultural and Life
Sciences, Engineering, and Letters and Science; the Schools of Business,
Education, Human Ecology, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine; the Institute
for Environmental Studies; and the Graduate, Law, and the Medical
Schools. Its 1,000-acre campus is located in Madison, 75 miles
west of Milwaukee. Founded in 1848, the University of Wisconsin-Madison
is among the largest and most-respected universities in the nation.
