The university facilities are fine and the faculty is helpful. However, the students are extremely closeminded. There were numerous and continuous racial incidents on campus including assaults and vandalism. Off campus is even worse as the locals really don't care for any students. Whitewater is an extremely small town and has small town beliefs and attitudes. The police force is large and in charge. The keep a very close eye on the student population and everything gets blown way out of proportion. Minor offenses tend to get elevated to the city police force as the university police have no authority in the town. Whitewater is exactly what you don't want in a college. I thought I was going to college to expand my thinking and perspective; not to get more closeminded. Very disappointing experience.

I disliked Whitewater so much. If you are not going for a sport, do NOT go to whitewater. The surrounding town is just horrible. There's a McDonalds, Walmart, and a Culvers that's about it. It feels like there are more students than local people in the area. The police have nothing better to do on the weekends besides busting parties and such. Every time I went out I was nervous about that, EVERY time. There is no diversity. Half of my professors couldn't speak english well. There is no opportunity whatsoever, which is very unfortunate for students.

On a positive note, the sports are very very good for a D3 school! except no one really attends the sporting events. The buildings are pretty nice, also very accessible for people with disabilities, which is nice!

I know everyone's experiences are different, but there is a very high transfer rate from Whitewater... At least I personally know a lot of people that really don't like it.

It's not worth the money for out-of-state students. OH! another big thing, everyone goes home on the weekends. Whitewater is a ghost town on the weekends for sure. So that really sucks. Just don't go here.

I actually transferred out and am at a Big ten school now. Honestly, transferring was the best decision I have ever made!

Overall, Whitewater is a great university. The academics are amazing and it is very easy to get in and get out on time. I think Whitewater's administration actually cares about students; therefore all of your imporant duties such as registration/financial aid...etc.. will be taken care on time. College is more about the individual's ambition and determination to finish and less abou the school and what the school lacks. I will say that this campus is very close minded to diversity; a lot of close minded individuals that are very racist in their own way. But I feel being a minority it is a good experience because it teaches you how to deal with peeople and their ignorance. Whitewater campus is very beautiful and well maintained...everyweek there seems to be new construction going on. Whitewater is also one of the cheapest and most affordable colleges in Wisconsin to attend. This is a backpack college- everyone goes home on the weekend.
