The classes are ok, but Whitewater really specializes in education and business (which I am not in). I absolutely hate the surrounding city. There is little culture here and I find that EVERYONE goes home on the weekends. However, it is priced very well and for someone who wouldn't be able to go to college because of expenses, this is a good place for them. I know that some people absolutely love it here and that's fantastic. I myself am considering transferring out of here to a larger city, and to a place that specializes more in my major. Classes are enjoyable, but you have to put some work into them. The town is a different matter though. You will come to find that most people leave on the weekends and if you are trying to form some type of social life by going out to parties you will come to find that the police officers here are pricks and think it is there calling in life to write out as many tickets as possible. I feel like the school and the officers here do not care about your safety, but instead are more intent on getting as much money out of you as possible. In conclusion, the programs are run well, but the rest of the components of the school suck. Education Quality: A-, Surrounding City: F Have a Question? College is all about growing as a person and meeting people with different experiences. UW Whitewater is a university of close minded people. My high school was more diverse and open minded. The racial tension is ridiculous. Why anyone who isn't white would come to school here is a mystery to me. There has been a hate crime every week for a year. To make matters worse, the locals absolutely despise the college students. This leads to a crackdown by the local authorities that makes every student feel like a convict.
