Alderson-Broaddus College is a nurturing environment with caring professors who provide many diverse opportunities for the student. At AB, I received an education that allowed me entrance into one of the finest conservatories in the country and become competitive as a musician. The faculty is outstanding and a young musician can receive a well-rounded liberal education and participate in multiple ensemble experiences. This experience focuses on becoming a "Jack of all trades" and master of none. This has served me well in my career as a college professor and professional singer. My wide range of experiences at AB has given me added insight into music making and a sense of confidence. I highly recommend AB despite it's shortcomings in location and lack of cultural opportunities.
I think that A-B is a great school. Yes, it is in a very small town with not much to do, but A-B has a sense of community all of its own. I have heard many people say, "It may take a year, but you will fall in love with A-B."
