I beat therefore I am
by The Leader
Jan 01, 2018
“Violence is a word that brings up a lot of emotions. It is the most blunt and visceral exercise of will that a human has. In many ways the buck stops there, at the frontier edge of human civilization. Whether used for the noblest of ends or the vilest, it comes from an ancient and primal source within; an instinct formed in the torrents of survival.”

Classic Corner
by The Leader
Jan 01, 2018
“Mean Streets was the beginning of a new form of art. The careers it produced and the styles it created are still seen in film today. Scorsese's cinematic expressions come through in every scene. The long tracking shots, rock and roll music and violence are all present and they all taste so sweet knowing this is the start of something special.”

Open Pantry goes green
by The Leader
Jan 01, 2018
“Going green is the new trend it seems as nearly every company is coming out with some way to contribute to the green revolution. With green smart cars, to green dorms, and green shopping bags. Everywhere people go they can find something "green". One company that students may not imagine going green is a gas station: particularly in their coffee business, but Open Pantry is doing just that with their new Rain Forest Alliance program.”

Milwaukee's secondhand experience
by The Leader
Jan 01, 2018
“California artists always seem to bring something different to the table when they arrive in Milwaukee. And, last Thursday (October 1) at the Rave Eagles Club on Wisconsin Ave., Secondhand Serenade definitely brought their West Coast flare and unique emo/ rock presence to the crowds gathered.”

Baking with style and innovation
by The Leader
Jan 01, 2018
“Sleek, colorful and engineered to preserve and design the best apple pies mother could make. Consumers may not realize the art in the creation of the kitchen and how it has contributed to world culture. Thanks to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, the general public can view how cultural values and consumerism have created a recipe for the "Great American Kitchen 1900-2010" exhibit.”
