For the second time in row, the Aggies fell as the Lions' prey by a one-goal margin in overtime.

UC Davis (9-22, 2-14) fell to UC Irvine (15-15, 9-7) in a game that ultimately didn't have any bearing on a potential playoff spot, but then dropped one that did in its win-or-go-home season finale at UC Riverside (8-20, 4-12).”

California Supreme Court hears gay marriage case

“Gay marriage could be legal in California within 90 days.
The California Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday in what could be the last step in the legal battle over gay marriage in the state.
The case began in 2004 when San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom chose to go against California law by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.”

Students go the distance during 24-hour dodgeball event

“Fifty-six teams and approximately 500 students took part over the weekend in the annual event DodgeballPalooza. The 24-hour tournament, which ran from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday, provided participants the opportunity to dress ridiculously, stay out all night and peg their friends and foes in the face while doing it.”
