Both track and field teams finish third at MVC meet

“Both track and field teams finished third at the Missouri Valley Conference track and field meets that ended May 17, and neither of the head coaches were too pleased, but accepted it. Head men's track and field coach John McNichols expected to finish second in the meet, since Northern Iowa was the clear favorite.”

“Bob Warn took a familiar walk out onto Sycamore Field on May 8 under the storm-laden skies that fell short of raining on a very special moment for the former ISU Sycamore baseball coach.
"All my emotions melted into one tonight," Warn said. "I stepped out onto the field and thought to myself 'how many times have I done this and stood out here?'" Warn took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium.”

The weather was cold and damp. The course was wet from rain the night before, but this did not slow down the results.

“Craig Padgett is a sophomore who runs cross country at Indiana State. What makes Padgett special is that he just ran the sixth-fastest time in school history this past weekend. Padgett managed to cover the 8k course in a time of 24:35.
For those of you not familiar with cross country, that is averaging a 4:55 mile for five consecutive miles.”
