Gardner, a senior at Davis Aerospace Technical High School in Detroit, was chosen as the 2009 recipient of the Lem Tucker Journalism Scholarship, a full-ride journalism scholarship offered at Central Michigan University.”

“The search for a CMU police chief has been narrowed down from 67 applicants to 15, said John Fisher, associate vice president of residences and auxiliary services and search committee chair. The search committee met Wednesday to screen applications and discuss interview questions, he said, and plans to meet early next week to continue the search.”

Diane Fleming, associate director of client services for the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, said more students are getting turned down for private loans because lenders have tightened their eligibility criteria.”

Add-ons and upgrades: Portal changes underway

“New technology and applications are being added to the CMU Portal in order to provide students and faculty with better service.
The updates to the online course and financial management system include tools like blogs, wikis and surveys.
The changes are a work-in-progress and are meant to be an easy transition for the students and faculty, said Information Technology officials.”
