I do? I think...
by East Carolinian
Jun 02, 2009
“The first and only time I was proposed to, it was the fourth of July at a fireworks festival.

“I admit it. I'm a pessimist.
When ECU was trailing South Carolina 6-0 Monday night after four innings of play in the Greenville Regional Championship, I thought it was over. After the Pirates fought back to cut the lead to 7-6, the Gamecocks right fielder Jackie Bradley, Jr.”

“You won't find Devin Harris' name on the all-tournament team for the 2009 Greenville Regional, but his late heroics helped ECU beat South Carolina on Monday for a spot in next weekend's Super Regionals. Harris tied the game with a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth -- two innings after officials collected all-tournament ballots -- before giving the Pirates a 10-9 win in the 10th.”

Pop culture and its obsession with the White House
by East Carolinian
Sep 30, 2009
“Anyone can see that Obama had left his image in the pop world way before his inauguration; posters, T-shirts, buttons, flags and musical lyrics, all in the name of "change." So, is Obama a politician or a pop icon, or perhaps both?
This question not only applies to Obama but to his wife, Michelle, as well.”

ECU/Loessin Playhouse performs a classic
by East Carolinian
Sep 30, 2009
“Starting Oct. 1, Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" will be brought to life by the talented pirates of ECU's theatre program.
Performances will take place on campus in McGinnis Theatre.
"The Crucible" is a recent change in tradition, as the Playhouse usually begins with a musical; nevertheless, this Tony Award winning drama will be sure to please.”
