Aesthetically, the campus is pleasant and safe. The course work is challenging, and to the best of my knowledge, "fluff" courses on absurd special-interest topics, simply do not exist. The college wants you to learn, and provides a refeshing amount of exposure to more classical topics and works. I almost failed out due to lack of effort, but my faculty advisors were always honest, helpful, and encouraging (as much as they could be, given my abysmal performance). I appreciate the college's willingness to be and do what they think should be done as an educational institution, despite both current trends and government oversight. As I've read and studied other matters since graduating, I would like to see the school emphasize and expose the students even further to classical works in various fields; whether it be ancient Greek philosophy, classical English literature, classical mathematics, etc. There have been some simply amazing minds in the past centuries that seem to dwarf the minds of today in terms or rigor, analysis, insight, depth, and accuracy. If you're looking for parties and carousing, this is not the place to find it. The "social life" at Grove City has always seemed to be somewhat of a joke. Personally, there were times when I was bored, and I wished there was something to do, but the best of times were times spent with the amazing people I met, who became my greatest friends. Fun followed naturally. If you attend this college, be ready to study hard and late; but take advantage of the environment. Learn all you can. Ask questions, be critical, write incisively. Participate in learning to influence the thought of the collective culture.
