Research Assistant University : Kenyon College ( 2000 )
Major : Psychology
Still in Field? :Yes Effort Level : 4/5 (Worked Hard) Gender : Female
Jobs held since college:
1. Research Assistant 2. Research Coordinator
3. Research Assistant Comment: " Kenyon is going to be what you make of it, and I think I made a whole lot of it. I had a great time, was a bit of a minor celebrity while I was there, and made enough connections with professors and Alum's that right out of school I got a great job as a Psychology Research Assistant at a Hospital. Certainly it doesn't work out this way for everyone, but at Kenyon, a small amount of effort went a long way. You do need to consider how well you will function in a rural village, and if you have a problem with people who are different from you culturally (maybe you would call it "culturally deprived," but the culture is just a bit more below the surface, it's just as valid and important as the West Village's culture) and economically, you shouldn't go to Kenyon. It's not a place for snobs. Go to Miami of Ohio if you want to wear Abercrombie and Fitch and do your hair and makeup everyday. Gambier, the village of <1000 year-round residents where Kenyon is located, is on the beautiful Kokosing River (the cleanest in Ohio), the banks of which I spend a lot of time on, building fires, singing, also singing, tubing, canoeing, and kayaking. There's also a substantial Fraternity presence, which can be nice but don't let it limit your social scene. "
