    I made friends at Syracuse who will be my friends for life. We had seen each other separtely but were together for the first time in 25 years and we just picked up where we left off. I was concerned about going to Syracuse because I was "atypical" in high-school, i.e. not a jock or really belonging to any particular group. At Syracuse, I found friends and, also, teachers who helped channel my creativity and eccentricity into a productive career.

    As for the City of Syracuse, the weather is bad, that is true, but I always kind of liked the funky nature of the town. I've been back many times and there are lots of historic buildings and very interesting mom and pop stores and restaurants, but you have to seek them out.
