"
LeMoyne College provided me an excellent opportunity to transition out of my small town, safely learn more about who I was as an individual, make life-long treasured friends, develop priceless critical thinking skills through a rigorous, yet academically challenging education, and become a positively contributing member of my world, both locally and globally.

After 20 years, I returned to the original professional world I prepared for at LeMoyne-teaching high school English, but the liberal arts program at LeMoyne prepared me for countless other avenues, both those that I pursued successfully or those I could have pursued, if I desired.

I never felt that the Jesuit tradition forced me to 'think like a Catholic'; it encouraged me to think and act with compassion, a precious gift to provide any human being. In fact, I am no longer practicing the Catholic faith, but my spirituality is something I feel was greatly improved by the open-mindedness I developed at LeMoyne.

I came from a working class family, and at the time, LeMoyne was a better bargain than the state system because there was more financial aid (academic scholarships and grant programs) available there. I did leave with loans (my family couldn't assist me at all with costs), but at the time, student loans were manageable, and though it took a long time to pay them off, I easily did, though my initial salaries were not impressive.

I still hold LeMoyne close to my heart though I've traveled extensively and now live in a major metropolitan area. It's a great fit and investment for many types of young people.
