I was actually surprised to read all the negative comments in regards to WIT. I'm a '98 CHC Grad. If your intent is too experience the pure college life style, Frats, sororities, Dorm parties, groups etc. It's not quite the effect WIT has. Although there are these types of opportunities but the general population isn't that cup of tea. WIT is Boston's best kept secret looking ten years down the line and Wentworth Institute grads run Harvard Universities back end servers. Myself and several WIT grads are currently employed here. One of my best friends whom went to neighboring NU graduated the same year got a job at Sun Microsystems at a starting salary of 48K - I took my first Job at Lucent technologies same year at 60K w/ 3k signing bonus (awwww the good ol' days!). What's the point you ask??.....the tuition in '98 for WIT was roughly 14K a year. The tuition at NU in '98 was ~24K. You do the math....the co-op program was the key, WIT has one of the best in the state. WIT is a highly respected school in the Engineering field. It may not have the bells and whistles of a MIT, W.P.I etc but the school does breed hard workers with the ability to solve problems. The ongoing joke back then was: A water main breaks and water is flooding a basement three College grads are on the premises one form MIT one from NU and another from WIT. The owner desperately ask for help. The MIT grad quickly ask for the Manual. The NU graduate calls three of his friends. The WIT grad finds the main knob and turns is shut.
