Attending the University of Notre Dame was a life changing experience for me. I had never set foot on the campus until the day I arrived, nor had any of my relatives attended the school. The courses were rigorous, however the faculty were always available for assistance. I found that medical school was much easier than ND. I cannot stress how important the dorm system contributes to the sense of belonging. There is no Greek system, instead all are invited to belong to the Notre Dame family. Since then, two of my children have attended ND (so yes, I started the legacy which has previously be derided on this forum) and both had similar experiences to mine.
