I always expressed my desire to become a teacher, and was told that after I graduated from NCA that I would be able to move on to complete my teaching credentials. Because NCA is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, only one school that I am aware of in Washington would accept any credits earned from NCA, and to my knowledge not one university accepts my degree in its entirity. Because of this, when I moved to California it was easier for me to start college classes again as a Freshman, rather than try to convince my counselors that NCA offered comparable courses. I completed my internship at the local high school in Poulsbo, and it was no secret that my desire was to teach, and I feel that NCA did not facilitate my particular desires. I feel that the general education courses were a joke, catering to a lower level of intellect and requirement than the junior college I currently attend, and though the school states that illegal drug usage is not permitted, students habitually turned in photographs depicting drug use as homework assignments. Craig Freeman did not address this issue, rather when I pushed the issue I was threatened to be kicked out of school because according to him, I didn't want to be there. This was during my third year at NCA, so I stuck it out because again, my credits were virtually useless elsewhere. I would recommend any person wanting to go to a "career school" that they think long and hard about what they want out of the experience, and not to trust the counselors at NCA whose prime objective is to fill seats. When I started going to NCA I was only 18 years old, and now that I'm older and wiser, I would never have made the choice to attend this "college".
